New Vacancy- Chief Financial Officer (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (Maternity Cover) to work at the Mowbray Education Trust.

The Mowbray Education Trust is a forward thinking, pupil focussed and extremely exciting trust to be a part of. Consisting of one large secondary, five primary schools, and a nursery, the vision of the Trust is to consistently put ‘children first’ in all the decisions that it takes.

An opportunity has arisen to join its Executive Leadership team to support the operation and strategic objectives of the Trust throughout a maternity leave period.

Reporting into the CEO, the CFO is responsible for overseeing the successful and effective delivery of financial management across the Trust, as well as holding a key position on the Executive team, shaping the strategic development of the Trust.

Working alongside the senior leader’s, you will be fully qualified from a CCAB recognised body, and provide reassurance with regards school budgets, and budgetary planning as well as taking a keen interest in the financial viability of any projects and advising as necessary all levels of management and Trustees.

If you are an ambitious person, who likes the mix of both hands on and strategic variety then this could be the role for you. Managing a small finance team, the central services provides all financial support to the schools within the Trust.

With the core purpose of ‘children first’ you will demonstrate the integrity to make transparent decisions and share the vision of integrity that the Executive Team strive to develop within the Trust.

About the Mowbray Education Trust

The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school; with potential numerical and geographical growth in the near future.

Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.

The remuneration package includes a competitive salary, contributory public-sector pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement:

  • Salary: Grade 15 - £54,474 - £60,121
  • Local Government Pension Scheme membership
