We are seeking to recruit a Pre-school Room Lead to work at OASIS Preschool & Retreat
Mowbray Education Trust Services Limited are seeking to recruit a Pre-school Room Lead to work at Oasis Preschool & Retreat on a permanent basis.
This role is working 32.50 hours per week (5 days per week, 8:30am – 3:30pm), Monday - Friday, term time only (38 weeks). However, working 4 days per week will also be considered.
A rare opportunity has arisen for an amazingly talented, caring, passionate and experienced early years practitioner to lead the way at Oasis Preschool. The experienced individual will lead a staff team to deliver high standards, and who is an excellent role model to both staff and children.

You will have experience of working with a range of deserving families in a variety of Early Years approaches to achieve the very best outcomes for all and understand the Trust’s ethos of ‘Children First’.
Oasis Preschool has been recognised as ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted 2015) and is committed to promoting the welfare of local children and families through our inclusive and flexible service; to maximise the potential of each child. The Preschool is situated on the same site as The Grove Primary School and provides provision for children aged 2+ to school age along with the SEND Retreat specialist unit. The preschool and Retreat have its own building with various indoor play spaces, sensory room, front garden, back playground, use of school grounds and nature areas.
Our pedagogical approach to Early Years, which is managed by an Early Years Professional, is driven by various theories, research and approaches which value nurturing, natural, open-ended, language rich, flexible play environments. Our approach supports self-regulatory and lifelong learning skills improving outcomes for children regardless of starting points.
You will have previous leadership experience and have a sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years, and early year’s foundation stage, together with an understanding of play based approaches to children’s learning and development.
You will be required to assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and to act as a key person for a small group of children.
Experience of working with young children and a knowledge of child protection is essential. Also experience of working with children Special Educational Needs and Disabilities would be essential.
It is essential that you hold a minimum Level 3 early year’s education and childcare qualification or equivalent, however a level 4 qualification would be desirable. Experience of supporting children with the Word Gap is essential along with a Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates. Along with good interpersonal skills, you will be committed to working with young children and families and be able to work effectively as part of a small team.
About the Mowbray Education Trust
The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. The MET currently has one secondary school, five primary schools and one pre-school with the Retreat; with potential numerical and geographical growth in the future.
Melton Mowbray is a rural market town in Leicestershire which is easily commutable from Grantham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham.
The remuneration package includes a competitive salary, access to workplace pension scheme and annual leave entitlement to be taken outside term time:
- Salary £13,235 per annum (£9.56 per hour)
